When Helen served as editor-in-chief at the Talisman, WKU’s student life and culture magazine, she worked with a team of talented students to create two distinct yet complementary magazine issues — both of which can be viewed below. She also helped craft and edit content for the Talisman’s daily-updated website, WKUTalisman.com.
As editor-in-chief, Helen had the final say on all content and editorial decisions for both of these products.
Under Helen’s leadership, the Talisman staff went onto receive national recognition. Honors include winning best of show at the National College Media Convention, being named a Columbia Scholastic Press Association crown finalist among hybrid print-digital publications and being nominated for an online Pacemaker award from the Associated Collegiate Press. Talisman staffers also took home eight individual awards from the Associated Collegiate Press and 14 individual awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association.
